| Deliver Me From Defeatism |
This past Sunday Pastor Kelly talked to us about allowing the devil to get us into a defeatist attitude. He repeatedly said, "When the devil says to you, `It's Friday,' (a reference to Good Friday--Jesus' worse day), you are to shout back, `But Sundays's a com-in.'" Meaning (1) Believe that God loves you; (2) Believe that God wants the best for you; (3) Believe that God has a plan for you; and (4) Believe that God will bring you through it. He concluded the sermon with, "To understand why ["Why is this happening to me?"], submit [accept that even this suffering is part of God's plan for your life], and apply [apply the truth of God's word to your life]. What did this say to you? |
